A law students wife.

I have googled "a law students wife support group" with no luck so many times. Why are there no support groups for us? Kenny has made friends in law school, but none of the have wives! I recently asked one of the law students girlfriends if she had thought about what she was wearing to their graduation. She laughed and said no. I think about his graduation day often. Have I mentioned Kenny is a 2L? Nobody gets me.

Are there any 2L wives out there? ANYONE. hello.

happy birthday to me.

Sunday was my birthday, I turned 26 years old that day.
Here are a few things I would like to tell my younger self...

1. You should have forced Kenny to marry you when you were 21. Marriage is cool.

2. You need to workout more, and eat less candy. (wait, I need to tell my 26 year old self that too)

3. Buying a ticket to Europe 2 weeks in advance was the greatest thing you have ever done. You should stop buying jeans and do that more than once.

4. You need to stop saying bad words. (just kidding)

5. Your sister will become your best friend, then she will have kids and ruin everything! (just kidding, again)

6. When you scooter, use both legs, your right calf will end up bigger.

7. Don't let your sister talk you into a walmart haircut. You will look like a shaggy dog.

Things 5 year olds say.

It's Monday, and Mondays are tough. So to brighten my Monday, and yours, I wrote a few silly things my kindergarteners said today.

While teaching on the carpet I hear running outside my classroom than one of my little boys walks in the door.
Me: Hunter, were you running?
Hunter: Uhhhhh no, but two black boys were.

While recently testing one of my little boys I asked him what rhymed with "pin".
His response: "pinis!"

Aren't they silly?

the ceremony.

We got married on a lake in the middle of the woods. It was magical. Since the scenery was so beautiful I didn't need many decorations. I lined the aisle with mason jars and white candles. Then made two simple banners to hang. It was a little windy outside and wasn't expecting that, my banners went a little wild. If that was the worst thing to happen all day, I was ok with it. Oh wait, we forgot all the beer at home and realized it 10 minutes before go time. Thank goodness for good friends!

babies.

My sister came into town with her two babies this week. The one in the picture below is two years old. He is full of it. His brother (which I didn't get a cute picture of!) is so adorable and 3 month old. Their mama sure has her hands full. Literally, they are both still in diapers.

My weekly lesson: Kids are a lot of work. If you think you want a child right now, you should reconsider it (or just spend the day with my sister). I'm just kidding, kind of. I need a nap .. or some wine.

snow day.

On Thursday my school closed early because the snow started to fall. My kindergarteners and I were so excited! I hurried home to put my comfy clothes on, got some hot cocoa, and stared out the window for hours. We woke up Friday with lots of snow and grabbed our sleds to hit the hills with all the neighbor kids. We don't get much snow around here, so when we do I'm like a 5 year old who can't get enough of it. I have done nothing but stare at it or play in it all weekend long.

Our whole town basically shut down. I love it when that happens. Everyone should be able to enjoy the snow. However, we are almost out of food in this house, I had to make snickerdoodle cookies not chocolate chip today!

We took a lot of walks in the snow, one led us to the lake which was a little frozen.

I'm gonna miss you snow. Come back next year snow, please.

DIY Shampoo & Conditioner

I have been talking about making my own shampoo for a long time now. This past weekend I finally did it, and you should too! Do you realize all those chemicals you are putting in your hair?
I have only used it for two days and so far so good. I did a little research and came up with my own recipe. I'm going to see how this goes for a few weeks, I might have to adjust a few of the ingredients a little depending how my hair likes it. I also made a conditioner rinse. I have found this really helps as a detangler. The smell of apple cider vinegar doesn't bother me, it might you, but it is really good for your hair. So suck it up.

shampoo
1/4 cup coconut
1/3 cup Castile oil (I used this)
1/4 Tsp. baking soda
1/4 Tsp. vitamin E
1/2 Tsp. Apple cider vinegar
20 drops of tea tree

Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a bottle and shake! Easy as that.

*because of the coconut milk you probably don't want to make more than this amount, in case it will spoil.

conditioner
1/2 cup water
1 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar

Directions:
Combine in a bottle and shake!

*I also made dry shampoo, I still need to test it out before I put the recipe on here.
